This is what I am talking about; snoring, bad breath and body odor; are they not offending to us and others?

Bad breath

I am sure you have heard an experience with some of these people who are good company but you would rather sit a distance away from their open mouth.

However, at times this would be really difficult, especially if this person whose mouth causes mild discomfort until they decide to shut it up is your lover or teacher or gym instructor.

At times is not our fault to have a “rotten mouth” which is justified by that terrible whiff, common at daybreak, yet before we slept, we ensured thorough wash flossing and brushing.

It could be irritating but it happens to be a healthy .

What causes bad breath?

Chronic bad breath also called halitosis is a mouth ailment caused by the cautious hard work of a naturally occurring bacterium.

Proteins are its darling meal, and when they feed, they produce a derivative called the volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) - the cause for bad breath when the levels are high.

In other word when the normal balance of this bacterium is altered, halitosis problem is the most welcome outcome.

Doctors also believe that halitosis could be caused by other medical conditions in the mouth.

Where does this bacterium live?

The dentists says it is traceable in the mouth parts such as the surface of the tongue, between the papillae of the tongue where the oxygen is deficient, in between the teeth, below the gum line and other hushed areas of the mouth.

Effects

Social effects like causing discomfort to others are common a that makes people avoid you like plague.

You see it is possible for you to get accustomed to any of your odors and therefore you may not realize that others can not stand you.

Personal life effects such as not being able to mix with people and date, work closely because halitosis makes you very self-conscious.

Economic effects such as overspending on any remedy you hear people talk about which could make you ignore other important things.
Prevention

Practice good oral hygiene- this you can do by ensuring proper cleaning, brushing and flossing using mouth washes before bed and tooth paste rich in fluoride.

This will aid in removal of food pellets in between your teeth which favors the bacteria proliferation.

Visit your dentist once after six months for dental check up.

Damp those old tooth brushes that tend to bruise your gums and avoid alcohol, coffee or junk and sweet foods.

Smelly feet and underarms

Sweat can be offending as well especially when it makes you so conscious of your feet and underarms.

This is just a natural occurrence caused by two glands under your arms called apocrine (secret milky substance from their hair follicles) and eccrine ones (secret harmless sweat or perspiration).

Sweat by itself does not smell until the horrible bacteria that feed on the apocrine product tampers after it has been broken down by skin and hair cells.

The same explanation exists for the smelly feet. The pair of shoes and socks your wear and the sweat make up the sickening odor.

When you sweat and you are wearing closed shoes, it does not dry up particularly if you are in nylon pair of socks that does not absorb it.

This then creates a warm, moist and dark environment for breeding of bacteria that produce isovalevic acid substance which results to feet stench

Inherited hyperhydrosis or excessive sweat is a common problem with menopausal women but not essentially them.
Prevent smelly feet by

Foot hygiene-Wash your feet with lukewarm water, using mild soap and dry them up well.

Athlete foot- You could use foot powder or antibacterial ointment if you have athlete foot problems.

Wear cotton or socks made from other absorbent, thick and soft materials as well as proper shoes not made of plastic.

Prevent smelly underarms by

Use deodorants or antiperspirants- perhaps this is the most widely applied technique by those who value fresh smell under their arms.

Although some of these products may make the smell worse, it is advisable that you do some research about them before you buy and use.

Observe proper hygiene- ensure that you take regular baths and wearing clean clothes.

Mind you diet- what is it that you eat unnecessarily? If you like the junk food, it is the high time you looked for the green and leafy vegetables, supplemented by fruits.

Snoring

For the longest time I thought one could prevent snoring, but now I know that it is a serious medical that people often suffer from.

Some people have been snoring all their lives while others snore from time to time, the obvious thing though is that this is really offending.

Believe or not, some spouses have failed to understand their partners whose snoring has stolen their ability to sleep peacefully.

So what causes snoring?

People have a snoring may be suffering from one or all of the following:

Poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat

When the muscles are too relaxed, because one drunk alcohol or took drugs causing insomnia, the tongue falls backwards in the airway or the throat muscle draw in from the sides in to the airway during deep sleep.

Excessive bulkiness of throat tissue

People with large tonsils and adenoids often snore especially children. Overweight people with bulky neck tissue snore as well.

Long palate or uvula

A long palate narrows the opening from the nose into the throat. As it droops, it acts as loud flap valve during relaxed breathing. Along uvula is more of a problem too.

Blocked nasal airways

A stuffy or blocked nose needs added effort to draw air through it, a thing that creates an overstated vacuum in the throat and pulls together the soft tissues of the throat and snoring results.

Nose or nasal deformities

This may include deviated septum which is a deformity of the wall that separates on nostril from the other. This could result to an obstruction.

Treatment

This will depend on the doctor’s diagnosis that will reveal if snoring is caused by nasal allergy, infection, deformity or tonsils and adenoids.
